Scaling

State Street climbs and the gear shifts down, with a belching bus, more often than not, leading you to the next major stop. It's a tricky corner; every car rolling mindlessly downhill takes their one chance to run the light and broadside whatever's in their path.

Bricks again, on Stewart Ave - the first glimpse of period buildings is broken by ramshackle college tenements, their overgrown lawns strewn with stray cups, bottles and cans. It's a little like San Francsico, only tree-lined.
